4 Steps to Finding & Validating Your Course Topic

(So You Know It’ll Sell)

A proven 4-step method to finding a profitable course topic that your audience will pay good money for.

If you know even just a few things about me, you should already know that I love Mexico! Everything about it – the varied landscapes, the people, the cuisine, etc. etc. I could go on and on. So when the opportunity came to visit Acapulco last month, I was intrigued. I already knew that Acapulco was a favorite destination for many American celebrities in the 60s and 70s, but amidst a handful of recent negative headlines about the city (and the entire country of Mexico…), I honestly wasn’t sure I would enjoy my visit to the city.

But, as often happens when I get sucked into the American media’s negativity, I was wrong.

What I found upon arriving in Acapulco was a beautiful place with so much to offer. I truly did not expect that Acapulco would be such a stunning place with sprawling, lush green hillsides, beautiful accommodations and incredibly fun activities.

If you find yourself in Acapulco, these are the things I recommend you do!

Cruise the Laguna de Tres Palos

Prior to my visit, I had no idea any sort of Everglades-esque lagoon existed in Mexico, but turns out one does in Acapulco! It’s called La Laguna de Tres Palos and it’s the perfect place to spend half a day on a little boat, enjoying the sun and the company of friends.

Chomp down on delicious food

From sopas and empanadas to Yucatan fish and ceviche, you cannot go wrong with traditional Mexican food and Acapulco offers some of the best.

Fly on the world’s longest overwater zip-line

Acapulco is home to XTASEA – the world’s longest overwater zip-line and a must-do activity for adventure seekers. You’re strapped in Superman style and connected to the line, then flown over Puerto Marquez – a flight that lasts for two full minutes. After your nerves subside, enjoy the spectacular views around you of the bay and the lush green hillsides.

I unfortunately did not bring my camera or phone with me up to the take-off point, so head to the XTASEA website to see what the experience is like. So much fun!

Enjoy the luxurious resorts

A true testament to what a gorgeous vacation spot Acapulco is, the resorts that line its coasts are nothing short of spectacular.

Here are my favorites that I visited during my stay:

Las Brisas Acapulco

During Acapulco’s hey-day in the 60s and 70s, Las Brisas was a popular spot for celebrities like Frank Sinatra and Sylvester Stallone. Even John and Jackie Kennedy stayed here during their honeymoon!

The resort has recently been renovated and remains one of the top places to stay in Acapulco. You certainly won’t be disappointed by Las Brisas‘ fantastic customer service, clean white and millennial pink decor and sprawling property. I recommend splurging for the room with the private pool 😉

Encanto Acapulco

A clean and ultra-modern hotel with a beautiful pool, outdoor restaurant and rooms overlooking Acapulco. This hotel is nothing short of absolutely stunning.

Banyan Tree Cabo Marques

A sprawling resort situated on a bluff in Punta Diamante, this Banyan Tree property is the perfect luxurious hideaway for your trip to Acapulco. My favorite parts of the Banyan Tree property were the infinity pools, spacious villas and celebrity clientele (i.e. Justin Bieber)!

Go boating

One of the best ways to enjoy warm weather in Acapulco is by, of course, going boating!

Taste tequila

Because, duh – you can’t visit Mexico without tasting some of the world’s best tequila! Order tequila shots at any restaurant or head to Banyan Tree Cabo Marques. They can organize a tasting for you.

Watch the diver’s show

This is another thing that Acapulco is well-known for – the diver’s show that takes multiple times a day at La Quebrada. The divers here are world-famous and extremely talented (as one needs to be to dive 135 ft. off a cliff)!
