While Wynwood is just a 20-minute drive from South Beach, it feels like a world away. A stark contrast from the party and beach vibes of it’s neighboring town, Wynwood is all about art and fashion. It’s a neighborhood rich with culture and art, and is a necessary stop on your next Miami adventure.
While in the Wynwood, Miami neighborhood, I highly recommend that you build these highlights into your itinerary:
Acai at JugoFresh
A popular spot with multiple locations in the Miami area, JugoFresh is the perfect place to start a day in Wynwood.
I recommend the Sunset Harbour Acai, filled with acai, fresh fruit, honey, coconut and cacao. Other great options include a Kaleito Smoothie (apple, kale, spinach, banana, celery) or a Straight Delicisico (almond milk, pineapple, almond butter, maca, date, ginger). You can see their full menu here.
Wynwood Walls
An obvious neighborhood attraction, Wynwood Walls is an ongoing art installation that showcases the graffiti and street art of artists around the world. The murals are each so unique, beautiful and beyond Insta-worthy! Head on over to my friend Taylor’s blog post about Wynwood Walls for more insight into the best spots for photos.
If you can, I recommend visiting during the week to avoid the crowds! But if you’re only able to visit on the weekend, come early in the AM.
Shop at The Bodhi Treehouse
For a bit of peace and tranquility in the chaotic and vibrant Wynwood, head to The Bodhi Treehouse. They sell organic cosmetics, crystals, oils and unique jewelry, and also brew fresh coffee at their in-house cafe. The atmosphere and vibes are good here, trust me.
And if you have the time, check out their schedule to attend a meditation or mindfulness class.
Wander the Streets
Perhaps one of my favorite things to do in Wynwood is to simply wander. The beautiful murals are not only inside of the Wynwood Walls art installation; they are on the surrounding streets and on the pavement as well. Make sure your head is swiveling while you walk or you’ll miss some inspirational (and super Instagrammable quotes) 🙂
The Salty Donut
The Salty Donut is Wynwood’s only artisanal donut shop and should be a mandatory stop on any Wynwood trip. They offer unique and delicious flavors like Brown Butter + Salt, Guava + Cheese and Baked Cookies + Cream, all made in-house with fresh ingredients. YUM!
Dine at SuViche
Few things excite me more than fresh ceviche, Peruvian cuisine and pisco. If you’re anything like me, be sure to make a lunch or dinner reservation at SuViche in Wynwood. SuViche’s food menu boasts a wide variety of ceviches, tiraditos and other Peruvian specialties. Their drink menu is equally as impressive with creative craft cocktails and an expansive Pisco bar.
And since a trip to Wynwood is clearly all about getting a great ‘gram (or ten), you’ll be all set to pose on one of SuViche’s swings:
Have you been to Wynwood? What was your favorite part about it?
